Aloha from our Soon-to-Be Sunny Headquarters in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA!  Having survived five hurricanes and several volcanic eruptions earlier this year, we are scheduled for our usual, long, nine-month stretch of perfect paradise weather.

The previous quarter (Q3) was as active as the weather. Our two "new" staff, Mr. David Shinsato, Editor-in-Chief and Acquisitions Officer, and Ms. Eleonor Gardner, Director of Publicity and Marketing, and I have been working hard to increase both the quality and number of our publications while at the same time offering Savant authors broader and more in-depth assistance in publicity and marketing. Our ostensible company goal: 24 new and outstanding publications a year, with substantially increased sales of our current holdings.

In regard to the first, we're actively seeking outstanding, never-before-published manuscripts from new and established authors, at the same time slowly increasing the quality and number of editors and book proofreaders. We're also working to further define and streamline the process of assisting new writers to become seasoned, professional authors. The Savant staff are working on revising and expanding our current author support resources; the results should slowly become apparent over the next six months.

Today we began the second with the opening of Savant's PRE-HOLIDAY SALE, the perfect time to promote sales of your Savantbook(s), CDs and DVDs, and help further establish author and title name recognition worldwide.

Savant SOFTCOVER BOOKS, CDs, DVDs, Merchandise and eBOOKS will be on sale; however, the sale structure is a different for each:

SOFTCOVER BOOKS, CDs, DVDs, and MERCHANDISE: ALL Savant SOFTCOVER BOOKS, CDs, DVDs and MERCHANDISE (except for Writer/Author Resources) will be 15% OFF THE SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE PRICE WITH FREE SHIPPING TO ANYWHERE WITHIN THE USA beginning today through 15 November 2016. This part of the sale is limited to purchasers made from our publisher website at

http://www.savantbooksandpublications.com

SALE ON eBOOKS: All Savant AMAZON KINDLE eBOOKS listed on Amazon.com or Amazon.uk.com will begin a worldwide 7-DAY "KINDLE COUNTDOWN DEAL" from today through 22 OCTOBER 2016. Prices start at 75 to 90% off our Suggested eBook Retail Price, the discount decreasing approximately every 32 hours during the sale. The sale will be hosted on

http://www.amazon.com or http://www.amazon.co.uk

Simply select "Kindle Books" and type in either the book name (or type in "Savant Books and Publications" for a list of all our books available during the above sale period).

Our Pre-Holiday Sale offers the best prices of the year! It's also a chance to send out an email blast to alert everyone you know who might be an interested reader of the sale.

I recommend sending out a message something like this:

———————————————-

"I just wanted you to know that my book, [TYPE IN THE NAME OF YOUR MOST RECENTLY RELEASED SAVANT BOOK], and most other Savant Books and Publications will be going on PRE-HOLIDAY SALE starting 15 October 2016 (details in press release at https://www.prlog.org/12592572)

Sincerely,
[TYPE IN YOUR AUTHOR NAME]
Author of [TYPE IN YOUR SAVANT BOOK TITLE]"

———————————————

Want to boost your sales and get some great name and title recognition publicity? Send out those emails and let everyone know about the sale!  FYI - Authors who sent out 1,000 "hot" emails and promoted the sale vigorously on blogs, chats and social media during our previous sale typically sold 200+ combined softcover/ebooks, receiving hundreds of dollars in royalties, and continued to experience consistently better sales for several months after the sale was over. Don't hesitate - Go for it!

So now that we've got that going, it's TIME FOR OUR CHAT TO BEGIN!

Hello, all!

I'll try to be as active as I can today. I got food poisoning last night and am trying to recover.

While I wait for everyone to join in today's chat, I'll switch from my publisher to my editor hat. I'm pleased to report that Richard Rose's new 1940's noir detective story, THE GUMSHOE (Savant, in preparation) is well into polishing. The story and interior are in final touchup, and a Chicago, on-site cover shoot was just completed. I expect to be building the cover over the next week. All that's left then will be the whole book proofreading and it will be ready to release and join his previous, award-winning detective-thriller, THE LAZARUS CONSPIRACIES (Savant 2015).

I look forward to hearing from cover artists, editors and authors regarding the status of their coming works!

Aloha Helen and David!

I hear you've had a very active quarter, Helen. Tell us what you've been up to in support of CLEOPATRA UNCONQUERED and what next manuscript you're working on!

Good grief, David!  What happened? We recently had an outbreak of Hepatitis A in Honolulu from contaminated scallops shipped in from elsewhere. Were you munching sushi here in Honolulu in secret?

Continuing to wear my editor hat for now, I want to say how enjoyable a task I found editing CLEOPATRA UNCONQUERED (Savant 2015) and how much I look forward to editing the sequel!

Good morning, Dan. While I await my father and his surprise for us, I have been interviewed by the Casper news. Link is at the bottom. I had a successful book signing this past month at the local bookstore. I'm up to 166 copies and am promoting my book and desire to play Cleopatra whenever, wherever. Tonight I'm impersonating Liz Taylor as Cleopatra as a local hospice benefit.

Great Caesar's ghost, I have been deprived of my right place in history as Augustus Caesar!! I am stuck in Hades with no one to order around. They call me Octo the Loser! Some guy just told me I am a victim of the "Mandela effect." Then they babble on about parallel universes. There can be only 1 universe as the word means everything.

I'm not exactly sure what happened [frown]. Probably ribs or something. It was bad last night, but I think I'm a little better today. Time will tell. And haha, I was I was munching on sushi back home!

Setsuko Tsuchiya's In Search of Somatic Therapy is in its polishing phase, so I'm excited to finally see that one to completion!

Well, hello Octavian!  I can imagine your disdain, but you know, we often get what we have coming to us. Antony and Cleopatra, though not perfect, were the more honorable of the two.

Off the editor hat and on the author hat!  I'm pleased to say that my new children's manuscript, "The Gecko Sings," which has been on the shelf for awhile is now back in my head, begging for a thorough rewrite. It all began when a new gecko took over being our house gecko. Others have dog, cats, birds, fish...we have house geckoes in Hawaii. They are welcome as they like to make nocturnal rounds of the host's house, snarfing up any small cockroaches before they become a pest, as well as mosquitoes and other insects. Ours has been doing such an exemplary job, we left a small bit of sweet cantaloupe rind out as a thank-you. This gecko, while somewhat reclusive, when caught in the limelight, likes to smile and stare back at onlookers. A cinematic fetish, I assume. Anyway, he or she has become my new muse, and I'm greatly inspired to re-do "The Gecko Sings" into something more dramatic to suit our new house gecko's style.

Dan, I have two versions of the sequel completed, one in first and one in third person.   I am hoping first though to sell the copies and get my name out there as the one who gave Cleopatra the victory she deserved.

The trip to Israel really breathed life into the sequels, and I loved my brief layover in Paris. As my name is Helen, that is appropriate, I feel.

Well, Dan, do you have time to address Great Caesar?

We've had numerous personalities appear on our chat (like, for instance my new cinematically-inclined house gecko), but never the world renown Octavian. What would bring "Great Caesar's Ghost" back from the dead to appear on our chat?

Was your trip to Israel research for your sequels to CLEOPATRA UNCONQUERED (Savant 2015)? How about posting a few excerpts from the book while you interview Octavian?

Dan, I can't imagine.  As the queen of the world, Queen Cleopatra, I think so little of this man. He is an insect of me. He is cursed in Egypt as the man who tried to topple the pharaohs.

My biggest enemy is gone, but Herod, the king of Judea, has the audacity to challenge me! When Antony was campaigning in Germania, to add Germania to Rome, Herod had the audacity to ask me to become his wife after the death of Marianme! Well, you can imagine my chagrin.

As long as Antony lives, I must pretend to tolerate Herod. We are good actors, but I am better. I have to be.

Now, Octavian, you may speak.
